Amy TrotmanTerra Kulai: Habitation + Creation
|
2008 › BEE › Bachelor of Built Environment (Landscape Architecture) Terra Kulai is an exemplar of future development at Point Lookout; environmentally responsible design in affordable housing and sensitive local industry. Mine closures drive the generation of industrial-based employment – Providing a range of employment options to sustain a diverse community. Central to Terra Kulai, geographically and spiritually, is Kulai Commons – an organism that interacts with and supports the surrounding environment, minimising the impacts of human habitation. Within the design envelope, symbiotic systems integrate to maximise the integrity and practical aspects of the site.
Amy Trotman’s work meets the sustainability challenge by providing living environments that are socially inclusive and ecologically sound; possession of these qualities guarantees stability for the community’s economic wellbeing. |
