2008 › CIF › BFA (Visual Arts) Yamaha Goes Sailing exists as a twelve minute video performance made in August 2007 and explores a correlation between body, object and space. The camera documents my body gradually exerting itself from a wooden boat skeleton, which prior to the performance, I encased in Paper Mache. I am not so much interested in the visual and tactile qualities of the media and objects I incorporate in to my practice, but in how I can activate them beyond their static form. I perceive Yamaha Goes Sailing as a physical investigation and transformation of object and space utilizing the closest tool at hand, my body.
