I am interested in the idea of a subjective art practice which main objectives revolve around the artist’s personal satisfaction; more specifically, the satisfaction I gain from viewing an interesting movie, looking at attractive images and listening to music that I enjoy. I prolong my enjoyment of these things when I make art out of the process of enjoying them. These activities also allow me to fantasise and daydream, and escape the drudgery of life in general. The everyday lives of most individuals are riddled with these moments to escape and fantasise. People listen to music, read books and watch movies, however, they do not tend to pay much attention to these activities and certainly the average person does not equate it to or make it into serious art. I, on the other hand, see these moments of escape, the movies, music and books as my art materials - the paint and canvas of my art.
