The importance of ecological and sustainable design is becoming increasingly recognised due to decades of constructed urban developments that have resulted in areas of repetitive urban sprawl. Few modern developments successfully exhibit these desired ideologies due to narrow lifestyle trends.
The Toorbul Ecocamp focuses on educating the younger population on concepts of ecological design and sustainability in order to transform current lifestyle trends to include more sustainable practices. An existing coastal community under threat of development will evolve into a dynamic and sustainable organic system that incorporates interactive education on concepts of sustainability which will progress over time to become a benchmark community.
