My practice, and in particular “suck it and see” and “out of date” explores the material, sensual and ephemeral aspects of using food to make artworks. These works aim to challenge the way the viewer might encounter food as an art object in a gallery. I am fascinated by whether viewers might be either seduced or repulsed by their qualities as both food and art. I am also very interested in the ephemeral nature of the materials I work with, particularly these toffee works that often melt, crystallize or are eaten while on display.
