Ma-Po-To-Fu

2009CIFBCI (Communication Design)

Ma-Po-To-Fu is a tangible installation that utilises playfulness through narrative and interaction in the form of a platform game. The aim of Ma-Po-To-Fu is to challenge the audience visual interpretation and cognitive processing. It brings up the provocative questions of: Are we truly the masters of our own bodies? Does our body react automatically to certain visual stimuli that we are unaware of? The player advances through the game narrative by stepping on the four coloured pressure pads to the beat of the music and correct colour sequence displayed.
