'DESTINATION INFINITY' fast forwards us to the year 3001, where – because of the 'defuturing' unsustainable actions and decisions of humans past (ie our now) - the Earth has become a hot, barren wasteland, where humans are forced to live in grim subterranean caverns, under the merciless rule of the robot machines that have turned against them. A group of 'replicant' humans are created by a mad scientist, who intends to send them back in time to assassinate the major players in the defuturing of Earth's past, in order to save the future! The robots study our present-day culture, and put together outfits that they believe will help them fit in to our modern day society. So, equipped with supremely functional and intelligent designs (quite literally ahead of our times), they step into the screaming vortex of the time machine… Destination: 2008.
