2008 › CIF › MA (Journalism) Where were you on Saturday, July 21, 2007? Thousands of Australians will be able to tell the exact answer: in a book shop! In cloaks and scarves they came, holding their wands high to worship their Chosen One.
For two years millions of Harry Potter fans throughout the world had to wait until at last they could place their hands on a copy of the sevenths adventure in the so called “wizarding world”. The Australian publisher Allen & Unwin estimated that over one million copies had been delivered to book stores throughout the country and New Zealand. Photographer Nina Plonka experienced the buzz in a book store in Brisbane. She captured the day in pictures - from queuing in the early morning till the moment the book finally hit the shelves. |
