Philip TyrerMend Me
|
2009 › CIF › Masters in Creative Industries (Communication Design) Mend Me was originally just a song that I had written. I selected this music to be the back-drop of a 3D animation of a family story that my grandfather used to tell my mother. The fairy tale narrative worked well with the ideas in the lyrics and gave me enough opportunities to create rich characters in 3D. Being my first work in 3D animation, and my 2nd ever encounter with 3D modelling; this piece also represents my journey up the steep learning curve of this medium. Given I was in the position of starting from scratch (and wondering how the hell I was going to achieve my goal) I decided also to produce the work in Blender - an open source (thus completely free) 3D production package.
