A Piece of Aboriginal Dreaming

2009CIFBCI (Communication Design)

A piece of Aboriginal Dreaming is a narrative work where the pace is controlled by the participant’s progression through the environment. This allows them to explore the environment at their own pace.

It is a tangible media piece that immerses the participant into the world of early consciousness, the very beginning of our creation. Stories shared by the ancestral beings that formed the very meaning of our life and existence. As an instillation art piece it is truly interactive reflecting traditional Aboriginal creation stories in a way that not only engages, but takes you back to the very beginning of creation itself.

These stories are truly authentic and part of the legacy of stories told to indigenous children, and shared by generation upon generation of Aboriginal peoples. They reveal a complex network of knowledge, faith and practices, which dominate all spiritual and physical aspects of traditional Aboriginal Australian life.
